Innovators, scientists, engineers, technologists
You are working hard to solve problems. To provide evidence to government. To create positive change. To design new products.
You don’t need to do this alone. Well thought-out and executed communication, marketing and project management will help you to:
- become more visible
- demonstrate your value
- attract funding
- discover partners
- design community led research that delivers relevant solutions
- share knowledge
- encourage action (whether that’s policy change or purchases).
Practical communication and marketing solutions
We understand that many working in STEM and innovation are committed and passionate but feel overloaded. The day-to-day demands keep coming, stopping you from connecting with people that matter to drive innovation forward.
If you don’t have the creative space, clarity or time to communicate and market your value, we can help.
“The best science is actually about asking questions, being bold and being willing to be vulnerable. And just saying, ‘I don’t know and I want to learn’.”
– Professor Tanya Monro, Chief Defence Scientist, Australian Department of Defence

Claire has a unique way of bringing together and enabling different types of changemakers to share their experiences, and she has the skill to engage a broader audience in changemaking conversations. This work is filling a vital need in our innovation ecosystem and inspiring curiosity, creativity, and community in novel and interesting ways. Claire is clever, energetic, and a powerhouse in assembling events that leave a lasting impact.
Claire worked in our team for bit over a year and in that time was instrumental in driving our brand, from logo design through to final collateral — a brand that has done us proud and remains strong three years on. Claire is extremely well-organised and in the face of my chaotic ideas generation, was able to consistently drive through stakeholder analysis and marketing strategy and even event management. She just gets things done!
The Canberra Women of Science and Art event provided me with a great opportunity to inspire children (especially girls) to be engaged with science and art. The good numbers at each webinar and the engagement certainly achieved this and I received social media follows and a few book orders as a result of the event and PR.
When Claire shared her idea to feature me in HerCanberra, I was excited. She made it easy for me as an interviewee and the article was a lovely piece about me and my work. When it came to being part of promotions and sharing content on social media it was very easy for me because Claire and her team posted engaging, diverse content regularly.
The event was a pleasure to be part of. It was superbly organised and attracted a diverse range of participants who were fully engaged with webinar speakers and topics. Thank you for the opportunity to be involved in such an important event.
We can be your impact partner. Your ‘safe pair of hands’, helping with science PR, communication, engagement and marketing strategy and planning; writing, editing & content; design and publications; and workshops, training and events.

Strategy work: Agriculture & biosecurity sector
Working with a government agency in the biosecurity sector, I developed a communication and outreach strategy. The project involved:
- consulting with government clients, at the state and federal level, and industry stakeholders
- reviewing available market research
- developing creative campaign ideas and underpinning messaging and project scope.
The client said: “Claire was very easy to deal with, friendly and positive. She brought a creative and thoughtful lens to the process and delivered a thorough strategy.”
Art-science workshops
Brave Bot workshops were created to demonstrate the concept of ‘for-purpose-art’ while also sharing snippets of science, technology and sustainability.
What’s a Brave Bot? A small piece of art, made on a bio-plastic tile, with loads of power to spread joy!
These craft-for-a-purpose workshops have been delivered at: the Changemaker Career and Craft Hub in Dickson in 2020, Libraries ACT, National Science Week 2021 and Game Plus Fest Online 2021.
STEM Education kits for Defence
In response to Defence’s idea to produce some STEM education kits for children, teens, teachers and parents we created three ‘Food: Different by design’ education kits. We produced a kit each for upper primary, lower secondary and upper secondary.

Article: Indigenous ecological knowledge
Claire Harris wrote an article for the Atlas of Living Australia for NAIDOC Week 2021. Entitled: Linking Indigenous ecological knowledge and Western science, it told the story of the research project collaboration between the Noongar Boodjar Language Centre and the Atlas of Living Australia.
Claire digested a range of background material, interviewed spokespeople, and, once the story was drafted, checked the facts, flow of the story, and angles with the spokespeople carefully. She was also on hand to provide guidance to the scientists and the communication managers.
